1 day CBI custody for IAS officer Sanjay Singh

CBI Special Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna today ordered one day CBI custody to an IAS officer Sanjay Pratap Singh and his Personal Assistant, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2.2 lakh.

A 1984-batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory cadre, Singh and his personal assistant Ramesh Kumar were arrested yesterday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation sought seven days police custody remand of both the accused by submitting to the court that they were required to be interrogated to ascertain whether other persons were also involved.      The Judge, after hearing the submission on behalf of CBI, allowed one day CBI custody of both.
