104 bovines rescued, 3 arrested

In continuation to its drive against Bovine Smuggling, police party of Police Station Chanderkote rescued 104 bovines and arrested three bovine smugglers, here today.

Acting on specific information, police party of police station Chanderkote strengthened Police Naka at NHW Chanderkote. During vehicle checking, a truck bearing No. JK02AL-5917 was signaled to stop for checking.  But the driver of the truck accelerated his vehicle and tried to run away but the active police personnel stopped the vehicle and apprehended its driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Tariq son of Mohammed Ayoub resident of RS Pura Jammu.

During checking of the vehicle, 24 bovines were found to be loaded in cruel manner being smuggled from Jammu towards valley without legal permission. On this, the bovines were rescued and driver has been arrested under FIR No. 32 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act at PS Chanderkote.

In another incident, during routine patrol at Dalwas Area, police party intercepted two persons, having flock of Bovines, comprising 80 Bovine animals. On enquiry, it was established that both of them are bovine smugglers and were trying to smuggle bovines on foot from Jammu towards Srinagar.

On this, the bovines were rescued from the clutches of bovine smugglers who have been identified as Mohammad Aslam son of Guddu resident of RS Pura, Jammu and Rafaqat Ali son of Mohammed Hussain resident of Anantnag. Both of them have been arrested and put under bars at Police Station Chanderkote under FIR No. 33/2016 U/S 188 RPC. Arrest has been made by Sub-Inspector Vishal Kumar of police station Chanderkote under the supervision of Mushtaq Ahmed, Addl. SP Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
