NEW DELHI: Yesterday, 17-year-old Rasikh Salam made his debut in India’s domestic cricket cup, Indian Premier League (IPL) wearing the jersey of Mumbai Indians, against Delhi Daredevils.
Mr. Salam was picked by the dugout of Mumbai Indians in recent auctions for IPL 2019. He is the second Kashmiri to play in IPL, after offspinner Parvez Rasool, who went on to play for Indian National Team as well. “The entire team also saw the first glimpse of the 17-year-old pacer from Jammu and Kashmir, Rasikh Salam Dar.
The youngster, who returned after an injury lay-off, bent his back and was not shy to bowl the short ball. Rasikh was bowling probing lines under the guidance of bowling coach Shane Bond. Rasikh bowled in tandem with our seasoned campaigner Mitchell McClenaghan,” a report on website said.
