19th Mahan Gurmat Samagam concluded at Dehri Sahib

Newspoint Bureau Newspoint Bureau Poonch, July 9 19th Mahan Gurmat Samagam was celebrated with great religious fervor at Gurudwara Yadgar Sant Bhai Bahadur Singh Ji, situated nearby Line of Control (LoC), Chakkan Da Bagh, Dharamsal Khari, Poonch today concluded.Gurmat Samagam is organized every year for duration of about one and a half months upto first week of July. Children Samagam, Youth Samagam, Istry Satsang Samagam,  Sikh Missionary College Samagam, All India Sikh Students Federation Samagam, full night Kirtan Darbar ‘Raen Sabhai’  and daring Sikh Maritial art ‘Gatka’ which established chivalry and help the youth to connect them with their ancient heritage remains main attractions of the event.  A free medical camp was also organized wherein free medicines were also provided to the needy patients.During the culmination ceremony, famous local raagis and preachers viz Manmohan Singh, Santokh Singh, Raagi Manmeet Singh, Jaswant Singh, Ranjit Singh, S Jagjeet Singh, Sartaj Singh, Jasbir Singh and Sardar Harcharan Singh also addressed the sangat present.Meritorious students from the community who passed their 10th and 12th class examination with flying colours were honoured on this joyous occasion.A memorandum was also submitted to the state government through Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, MLC, J&K highlighting burning Sikh demands, the state was also urged to implement Punjabi language in the educational curriculum of the Government schools at the earliest.Braving all odds a large number of devotees attended the final ceremony with great passion, enthusiasm and devotion, inspite of very tense Situation at LOC caused by death of two locals due to heavy shelling yesterday.Special prayers were offered for the peace and tranquility in the area and the prosperity of the inhabitants of the Border District. The management committee of the Gurudwara Sahib conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved families of the shelling victims and prayed for peace to the departed souls. Brigadier 93 Infantry Brigade A S Parekar, Rajiv Pandey, SSP Poonch, Dr Gurvinderjit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner and various other officers/officials from different departments participated and prayed for well being of the society.Harcharan Singh Khalsa thanked the Sangat, the Raagis and the Preachers.
