2.35 lakh high density fruit plants distributed among growers: Veeri

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works, A. R. Veeri, today informed the House that 2.35 lakh high density fruit plants have been grown in Horticulture Development farm at Zainapora and distributed among the farmers during the last two years.
Replying to a question by Aijaz Ahmad Mir in Legislative Assembly, the Minister said that Zainapora Advanced Centre for Horticulture Development will be the major centre for propagation and distribution of high density planting and root stock material.
The Minister said that precious and valuable plant material and root stocks of various kinds and varieties imported from Bulgaria, USA, Armenia and CITH have been planted in Zainapora horticulture farm. He said the plant material and clone root stock are being propagated and multiplied on scientific lines at this farm. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works A. R. Veeri, informed the House that a proposal for construction of Gai Dessa-Panjan via Fuji Gali, Gai Dessa to Bhatta and Bimna to Malan roads has been incorporated in the revised core network of PMGSY. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works, A. R. Veeri, today said that development of road from Chowkibal to Tangdhar to National Highway Double Lane (NHDL) specification is in progress. Replying to a question by Bashir Ahmed Dar the Minister informed the House that Baramulla-Kupwara-Tangdhar roads has been declared as National Highway (New NH-701). He said the road from Baramulla-Kupwara upto Chowkibal has already been developed as per NHDL specification during 2011.
