2 Udhampur youth gets Shaurya Chakra for bravery

Government of India today awarded ‘Shaurya Chakra’ to two civilians, who nabbed an armed Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Mohammad Naved alias Mohammad Usman at village Chirdi in Udhampur district last year, in recognition of their brave act.

Along with other 26 other awardees, mostly armed personal, only two civilians namely Bikramjeet and Rakesh Kumar Sharma from Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir got the prestigious recognition.

They all were honored by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Defence Investiture Ceremony–II, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, in New Delhi.
