Police on Wednesday said that twenty-one forces personnel were injured in various clashes that erupted after Eid prayers in various areas of Kashmir valley.
“Twenty one Police and SF personnel including two Police officers and four others were injured,” said a spokesman.
He, however, said that situation in normal in the valley.
“Elaborate security arrangements were made and almost all the (Eid) congregations dispersed off peacefully. However, miscreants indulged in stone pelting at some places including Main Chowk and Batapora Sopore, Hyderpora, Iddgah Srinagar and Ashaji Pora Anantnag,” said the spokesman.
He claimed that the police and forces exercised maximum restraint during these clashes.
“Twenty one Police and SF personnel including two Police officers and four others were injured. Situation is normal throughout Kashmir,” he said.
Interestingly, namazis alleged that forces lobbed teargas shells inside an Eidgah in Anantnag, which injured several devotees, including women.
