24 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Chenani and rescued 24 animals besides arresting two smugglers.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Paramjit Singh, laid a surprise naka at Motor Shed NHW Chenani and intercepted a truck, bearing registration number JK02AS-8211. During search of the truck, 24 bovine animals were found packed inside. Police rescued the animals and arrested the truck driver namely Mohd. Iqbal of Chamalwas Ramban along with his associate Waqar Younis of Chamalwas Ramban.
Police also seized the truck and registered a case FIR number 126/2017 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act at Police Station Chenani.
