26 injured as minibus overturns in Samba

Around 26 people were injured, six of them seriously, when a minibus in which they were travelling overturned on the Sumb road near the Padel area in Samba.

About 30 passengers were on board the minibus when the accident took place, the police said.“A minibus, which was on its way from Samba to Sumb, overturned near Padel village this evening after the driver lost control over it.

Around 26 passengers sustained injuries, six of them seriously,” a police spokesperson said.The police along with locals rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. The injured passengers were rushed to District Hospital, Samba, from where six critically injured passengers were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for advanced treatment, the spokesperson said.The critically injured have been identified as Rita Devi, Shastri, Nitin Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Balraj Singh, all residents of Samba, and BSF constable RK Patil.The police have registered a case and started investigations.
