The NIA raided eight places in Srinagar and Anantnag in connection with the publication of ISIS’s Voice of Hind magazine, teaching online lessons of bigotry. During this, three operatives were arrested. In addition, several incriminating materials, digital evidence, mobiles, laptops, tablets, hard disks etc., were recovered during the operation.
According to the NIA, Tauheed Latif alias Liman, Suhail Ahmed of Solina and Afsan Parvez of Khanyar were arrested from Chattabal in Srinagar during the raid. It was reported that ISIS had hatched a conspiracy to infuse fanaticism among Muslim youth to prepare them for jihad against India. Online propaganda has been started for this.
Youth are being recruited into ISIS by putting online content under pseudonyms. The NIA had on June 29 registered a case and arrested four accused. Investigation revealed that all of them were in contact with ISIS operatives in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Kashmir allies of these four are also conducting ISIS activities online.
This includes collecting and translating material for the terrorist organization’s propaganda magazine Voice of Hind. Sources said that raids were also conducted at the residence of some government employees in Anantnag. In Anantnag, the action was taken at the house of an employee of the Jalshakti department, a mobile shop operator, casual labour in PDD. They were taken into custody and interrogated at Achchabal police station.
