3 security personnel including 2 Army men martyred in a militant attack in Baramulla district of J&K

For the third time in last 36 hours, militants launched a deadly attack on the security forces killing two army jawans and a policeman, besides injuring three troopers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at Khawja Bagh area of Baramulla at 2.15 am when heavily armed militants ambushed an army convoy killing two soldiers and a cop. Five soldiers were also injured in the incident.
There was an ambush on the army convoy at early morning. We have lost two soldiers and one J&K police personnel. There are some injuries as well but those details are not available as yet”, an army spokesman told.
Indian army and police have rushed in reinforcements and cordoned off six kilometre area to hunt down the ultras responsible for the incident. Searches are also being conducted deep into the mountainous area to track down the militants.

This is the third militant attack in the last 36 hours and second in less than 10 hours in the restive Kashmir valley. Militants attacked a police post with grenades injuring five cops one of them seriously at Kakpora village in Pulwama district south Kashmir on Tuesday evening.

Superintendent of police, Pulwama, Rayees Mohommad Bhat said militants lobbed a grenade on the police post in which five of the cops were injured. “One of them has suffered serious injuries. The situation is under control”, he said.

On Monday militants killed Commandant of CRPF 49 battalion Pramod Kumar and injured eight others when they attacked the security forces at Nowhatta in Srinagar. Two militants were later gunned down in the retaliatory action.

Indian army gunned down five militants when they foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LOC) in Uri sector on Monday. Two army officers were also injured in the incident
