4 persons including 3 cops injured in Srinagar grenade attack

Srinagar, May 18
Two Special Police Officers (SPOs) and a constable besides a civilian were injured in a militant grenade attack on a police station in the down town Srinagar this afternoon.
Official sources said that unidentified militants hurled a hand grenade towards police station Safa Kadal. The grenade exploded in the compound of the police station resulting in injuries to two SPOs and a police constable. A civilian was also injured in the blast, sound of which was heard in the entire down town.
Security forces immediately launched search operation in the area but the militants had managed to escape.
The grenade attack on police station came at a time when two-day 14th GST Council meeting chaired by Defence and Finance minister Arun Jaitley was being held here from today.
