To celebrate 44th Vijay Diwas to mark the victory of Indian Army in 1971 Indo-Pak war over Pakistan Army which resulted in the creation of a new nation of Bangladesh, General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General RR Nimbhorkar laid down wreath at Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal War Memorial at Nagrota Military Station in the morning hours.
Many civilians and military dignitaries from Nagrota Station and areas around were present on the occasion and the function involved tea with troops after the wreath laying ceremony. The celebrations of Vijay Diwas every year mark the supreme sacrifice and valour of Indian Army, which will be remembered for posterity.
Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding said that Indian Army has always stood tall and met all the challenges faced by the nation in an exemplary manner, coming out victorious each and every time. He also said that Indian Army is ready to face any future challenges and has been guardings the volatile Line of Control with grit and determination.
