Believe it or not, in the era of modern ways of flooring, there are still 48.5 percent of the families of the rural households who have mud flooring.
According to the data revealed by the Niti Ayog, the total number of rural households in the state is 2015088 out of which 48.5 percent of the rural households have mud flooring at their homes. The data further revealed that there are many families who have wood and bamboo and burnt brick floorings at their households and they constitute 1.5 percent and 0.4 percent of the total number of rural households.
The Niti report also revealed that households with the stone and mosaic tile floorings constitute only 1.6 percent and 1.9 percent of the total number of rural households whereas, the families who have floorings of any other material constitute only 0.1 percent of the total number of rural families.
In a shocking revelation by the Niti report, there are only 46 percent families who have cemented flooring against 48.5 percent of the people using mud flooring.
The PDP led BJP government have come up with many new provisions for the betterment of the ignored section of the society, but providing rural households a better way of living is still a farfetched dream.
The centre government has also made up many provisions regarding the upliftment of the ignored society and also providing them basic necessities for their living. Moreover the state government is working hand in hand with the centre government so as to develop those sections of the society which are still using mud, wood and bamboo, burnt brick etc floorings at their households.
The use of these floorings is more prevalent in the rural areas, which simply shows that rural areas are being sidelined by everyone. So the its high time now that government should take some measure so as to provide rural households with basic amenities they could.
Recently the state government has issued funds for the constructions of roads in the rural areas, which will help in connecting those rural areas with rest of the areas. Only initiative and creative ideas would help in developing the rural areas.
