FEB 12: Five drug peddlers were arrested and contraband substances recovered from their possession in Kulgam and Budgam, Police said Thursday.
A statement of Police issued here said that the official at a checkpoint established near Alstop intercepted a truck (JK14A-9455) with two persons on board.
“They have been identified as Mohinder Singh and Harpal Singh, both residents of RS Pura Jammu. During checking, officers were able to recover 1.5 kg poppy straw from their possession,” Police said.
The statement said that the official also intercepted a suspicious person at the same checkpoint who was identified as Reyaz Ahmad Dar of Harnag.
It said that during search, officers were able to recover 100 gms of Charas from his possession.
