Srinagar, April 30
Around 7.35 lakh man-days were generated to complete 1,778 works during the last fiscal year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. Officials said that a total of 1,837 works were taken up under MGNREGA during 2016-17, generating around 7.35 lakh man-days of employment in the district. “Some 45,000 Job Cards were also provided to rural households under the scheme,” he said. Whereas, he said some 353 small houses were constructed for the homeless people under the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) scheme.
