President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s to immediately convene Chief Minister’s meeting of those states who are dependent on Central grants for running their day to day business including state of Jammu & Kashmir. The meeting should specifically address the issue of implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations.
Addressing the NMC workers meet at Kanjli, Shastri highlighted the issue of delay in implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations, adding that several states will find it nearly impossible to share the burden of hugely accumulated arrears to their employees and pensioners should implementation of these recommendations get further delayed. “Central government should come to the rescue of state of Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a very difficult time and the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is ably running the affairs of the state.”-Shastri said. Pleading the cause of removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre as per SRO 93,Shastri drew the point that this cadre even though it forms the backbone of the state Govt. is the most neglected one.Shastri also appealed for enhancing the medical allowance to rupee three thousand per month since the cost of medicines has increased beyond limits.
