Jammu Tawi, April 28
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq today inspected the ongoing construction work on laboratory block and additional class rooms at Higher Secondary School Sunjwan. The Minister took stock of the progress of the work and directed the officials to accelerate the pace of work so that the construction is completed at earliest. The department of Rural Department is the executing agency of the construction work of the model school. The Minister inspected ongoing work on Laboratory block which is being constructed under convergence with Education department at the cost of Rs 68 lakhs. He directed the officials to complete the work at earliest. Abdul Haq also inspected the construction work of additional class rooms and kitchen block being constructed at the cost of Rs 57 Lakhs in convergence with Education department and the 14th FC.
The Minister took round of the libraries, laboratories, classrooms, smart class rooms and interacted with students and teaching faculty. While interacting with the school authorities, minister assured them the every possible assistance in making the school one of the best schools with equipped with every modern facility. Minister said the department will assist schools in rural areas for infrastructure development by converging funds under MGNREGA so that there is no issue regarding infrastructure development in these schools.
He said the department has earlier constructed a play ground for the school besides construction of compound wall, parking and drainage around the school. Minister was accompanied by Director RDD RK Bhat, ACD Jammu, Xen REW and other senior officials of the department.
