Absconding bike lifter held, 4 stolen bikes recovered

Gangyal Police today arrested a vehicle lifter who was absconding from a long time and recovered four stolen motor cycles from his possession.
As per reports acting upon specific information, Gangyal police laid a special naka at Bandhu Rakh near Air Force Station and signaled a motor cyclist to stop for checking but motor cyclist accelerated the bike and tried to fled away but was chased and nabbed near Ranjit college by the alert cops.
During the scrutiny of the document it was found that bike which he was riding bearing Registration number JK21 2164 was stolen from Model Town Gangyal few days back, the bike rider along with stolen bike was brought to Police Station and was put on thorough questioning and was identified as Sanjeev Kumar son of Bachan Lal resident of Ward No. 07, R.S. Pura. During sustained interrogation and questioning he confessed the theft of 03 more bikes bearing Registration number JK02S 3059 Passion Motor Cycle stolen from Gangyal Garden, Motor Cycle JK02BC-1304 stolen from Agra Chak R.S. Pura and Motor Cycle Splendor bearing Engine No. JAQ5ECE9F26714 Chassi number MBLJQ5E9F26443 stolen from Ward No. 07, R.S. Pura which were accordingly recovered on his disclosure. A total of 4 cases of Motor vehicle theft has been worked out with this recovery i.e. 02 FIR’s of each police station Gangyal and R S Pura. Police spokesperson said that more recoveries are likely to me made as the accused is a habitual vehicle lifter. The arrest was made by the team headed by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aijaz Wani under the supervision of Sachin Gupta, SDPO City South and Shazaad Salaria, SP City South.
