Jammu Tawi, April 24
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu and Kashmir State working committee concludes at Bishnah, demands Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) system should be kept in abeyance. The whole analysis of working of ABVP in the previous year and planning for the upcoming session was discussed. While addressing the press conference, ABVP State Secretary, Varsha Jandial asserts that ABVP is always in the field against the commercialism of education. The state working committee has planned to move in the direction of improving education system. Varsha further said that ABVP welcomes the decision of academic council of approving CBCS system in UG courses but at the same time it is not more than a joke with the career of the students. The colleges in the state is already facing worst conditions whether it’s academics, infrastructure, choices in the stream courses and instead of improving them the Council had approved new mechanism for generating funds, he added. Varsha further said that the working committee also discussed and planned to move in the direction to provide ceiling to the private schools fee structures. ABVP demands that the Council should keep this CBCS system in abeyance until the basic things improved and if it is not so, ABVP will lead a movement against these.
