Academy releases unpublished work of Ranjoor, launches website on late writer

J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Saturday released the unpublished work of late Abdul Sattar Ranjoor at a function held at its Seminar Hall here. Books released today included ‘Massi Senz-e-Bahak Manz’ and ‘Kalam te Pagam’ Organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the book release function was presided over by Jnanpith awardee Kashmiri poet, Prof. Rehman Rahi while MLC, Zafar Iqbal Khan Manhas was the chief guest.

Noted journalist, Mohammed Sayeed Malik, Ranjoor’s son Mansoor Anwar Ranjoor and Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini were also in the presidium. Former Secretary Academy and MLC, Zafar Iqbal Manhas presented an in-depth paper on life and works of late Abdul Sattar Ranjoor. In his paper Manhas chronicled various phases of Ranjoor’s decades-long literary journey.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rehman Rahi said that the work of Ranjoor was important in that it would provide readers glimpses into the rich literary and cultural past of Kashmir.

Among others the event was attended by Ghulam Nabi Khayal, Naseem Shafai, Hawa Khan, Ayash Arif and GR Hasrat Gadda. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmad
