Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Mr. Abdul Ghani Kohli has emphasized the need of adopting innovative measures to boost production under Animal and Sheep Husbandry sector for improving the socio-economic conditions of the stakeholders associated with it.
This was stated by the Minister while chairing a meeting to the reviewing the functioning of Sheep and Animal Husbandry department at Kalakote, Rajouri here today.
The meeting was attended by Director Fisheries, Director Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Animal Husbandry Officer, Sarpanches, Panches and prominent citizens.
The Minister underlined the need to organize awareness camps in rural areas to make people aware about the policies and schemes of the department. He stressed for involving public and representatives from panchayats so that all the schemes of the departments are implemented at grass root level. He also called for providing adequate and timely medicare, vaccination and other allied facilities to give a boost to the livestock sector in the state.
Later, the minister convened a meeting with the officers of PHE, Rural Development Department, Health and PDD and took stock of the working of these departments.
Kohli directed the concerned departments to take requisite steps to provide better amenities to the people living in the rural areas. He stressed on putting in place an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure effective and timebound delivery of public service.
