Advance Theater Workshop concludes at SMVDU

A ten days advanced theatre workshop which was focused on individual development of students concluded here at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized by the Board of Cultural activities.

30 students participated in the workshop. The focus of the workshop was to develop among participating students the ability to display their talents by enactment.

The workshop was conducted by Vikram Sharma, an alumnus of world renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute New York.

He has also worked with internationally renowned names in the field of acting like Paul Calderon, Tom Bangle, Lorca Peress, Susan Grace Cohen just to name a few. He has also worked in many off broadway productions and commercials in NYC.

Before moving to NYC, Vikram has actively worked with renowned theatre director Padmashree Balwant Thakur for many years. He just finished shooting for a short film titled “An invitation” Co-starring Rajat Kapoor and is also working on a feature film directed by critically acclaimed Marathi director Ruturaj Dhalgade.

He is also guest faculty at National School of Drama, New Delhi works regularly with students there and teaches specialized acting classes. The workshop was assisted by Gaurav Jamwal who is a known theatre artist and has performed in numerous national and international theatre festivals. Dr. V.K. Tripathi President BCA felicitates the instructor and Dr. Yugal Khajuria Dean of Students congratulated all the participants.
