Jammu Tawi, April 27
An urgent meeting of the Aggrieved Teachers Association (ATA), J&K was held under the chairmanship of its president Mrignayani Salathia.
During meeting, the fate of the masters who have done B.Ed. degrees through correspondence mode was deliberated upon. In the meeting, it was resolved that the members of the association shall fight tooth and nail against the higher authorities, particularly Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, who have been oppressing the masters promoted vide Order number DSEJ/NG/M/Prom/7255-68 dated: February 11, 2014 for the last three years by denying adjustment to them despite the fact that the similarly situated persons have been adjusted.
While addressing the meeting, Mrignayani Salathia spoke that the government order number 66-Edu of 2017 dated February 16, 2017 is not applicable to the masters who have been promoted way back in 2014 but the higher authorities have for the reasons best known to them have refused to adjust already promoted masters unless they go through a written test as envisaged by the government order number 66-Edu of 2017.
She further said that during 2014 to 2016 about 165 masters have already been adjusted by the Education Department on pick and choose basis throwing all norms to the wind. She said that the higher ups in the Education Department seem to have made a plan to adjust fake degree holders by giving them an opportunity to pass the written test to be conducted by the J&K Board of School Education.
