Agriculture employees protest for their demands

Scores of agriculture employees of district Poonch held protest dharna at District Headquarters Poonch in support of their demands.
The dharna was held to register their anger against state government for not conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) for last 30 years resulting in stagnation in the department, which is leading to frustration in the cadre.
The protesters also asked for to regularize agriculture technocrats who are professional degree holders on the post which is lower than the post reserved for professional degree holders.
Speaking on the occasion, BK Chandan, SDAO Poonch, said that this is the first step taken in Poonch district and it will spread in other district, leading to wide spread protest.
He also said that government is not serious towards agriculture stream and always ignore agriculture department and do step motherly treatment with them.
Mohd Nawaz Khan, AEO Surankote said that officers who are presently sitting on higher posts in Agriculture department are only in charge but actually they are AEOs and JAEOs and also one officer holding 2-3 posts simultaneously. He appealed the government to hold DPC and stop this culture of holding posts and follow the procedure of one man one post so as to do justice with every assignment.
Among those who participated in the protest included Agricos from Sub Division Mendhar and Surankote, Inderjeet Singh, AEO Jhullas, Harvindr Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Randhir Singh, Ramnik Singh, Sukhvir Singh, Dharminder Singh, Rajeev Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh, Tanveer Sudan, Gurmeet Singh, Anis Sohil, Vivek Kumar, Shahid Ahmad Mir, Amjad and Anshu.
