AHD observes World Veterinary Day

In order to highlight different aspects of animal medicine and contribution of the veterinarians towards the welfare of pets, Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) celebrated World Veterinary Day, here today. A rally of dairy farmers, pet owners and students was also flagged off besides marching towards main bazaar with banners, posters and pamphlets in their hand. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ramesh Razdan addressed the gathering while recalling a popular saying that the Greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. He emphasized the need of adopting a humane behavior towards animals. An oath was administered to the Veterinary doctors, surgeons and filed staff working at various places of the district. Earlier, some social activists also emphasized the need for establishing an animal yard in the town to take care of the stray cattle. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Mahila wing president Sunita Kumari and president Chemist Association Ramban (CAR) Rakesh Kotwal besides others.
