April 8:Tight security has been placed in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir and Katra town, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, especially around temples ahead of week-long Navratras, which will commence from tomorrow.
In Jammu city, tight security and round the clock vigil has been established at Bahu fort, which is famous as “Bawa wali Mata” with the extra deployment of police jawans and traffic cops to avoid the traffic jam enroute fort.
Special route plans have also been prepared for diverting the vehicluar movement going towards Bahu Fort while special nakas has also been erected for full proof security.
Police has also deployed special teams for Proper 24*7 CCTV monitoring of the Bahu Fort and other cameras installed at the various sites of the city especially outside the temples.
Special security arrangements have also been made along the Jammu-Kathua national Highway with rising of special nakas while Jammu to Katra road has been sanitized and is under proper security cover.
DIG Jammu Kathua range Ashkur Wani said that all security arrangements have been completed and there will be complete round the clock security during the Navratras. He said that keeping in the view the beginning of Navratras during ongoing chaos over the NIT issue special arrangements have been made to tackle with any such situation.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Sujit Kumar told that two additional companies of armed police have been deployed while dog squad, metal detector, anti land mine, anti fidayeen teams have been kept ready for dealing with any toward situation, if erupted.
Pertinent to mention here that thousands of pilgrims visit the holy temples, especially the Bawa Mata and Vaishnodevi during the Navratra festival, to pay obeisance to the goddesses Durga and Kali.
