AJKK holds meeting, discusses farmer related issue

A monthly meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Union (AJKKU) held at Jammu which was presided by Ashok Sharma former Legislator and Chairman AJKKU. All the issues pertaining to the overall development of the farmers were discussed in the meeting including separate Agriculture Budget on the pattern of the Railway Budget, Cattle and crop insurance and supply of the ration of CAPD on the old pattern besides compensation to the farmers against losses due to flood.
Sharma while speaking on the occasion showed anguish over the arbitrary and discriminatory attitude of the Government towards the farmer community as the Government has failed to watch the interest of the farmers in the State of J&K. In the meeting, it is unanimously decided that Ad-hoc Block and District Committees headed by their respective Conveners will be constituted consisting of 11 members Block Committee and 15 members District Committee till such Block enrolls 5 Delegates and District enrolls 15 Delegates. On achieving the target of 10 Delegates in Block and 25 in District, the designation of Convener will be changed to President. The full-fledge Block Committee requires at least 25 Delegates in Block and 50 in the District as per the Constitution. This interim arrangement will be made till the membership drive concludes i.e. 31-12-2016 added Mr. Sharma.
Among those who spoke on the occasion in the meeting included Zahid Malik, Abrar Ahmad Khan, Pritam Singh, Ch. Bagga Khan, Vijay Sharma, Satish Chander Chibber, Shubam Sharma, Arjun Sharma, Kailash Nath and K. R. Dogra.
