Akhilesh holds meet with his legislators, ministers: rushes to meet Mulayam

With very little option left for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, after rejection of his candidates’ list by the Samajwadi Party supremo, the leaders held a meeting with Akhilesh at his official residence today to express their annoyance. Later, the CM rushed to meet SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav. During the meeting which lasted for around 90 minutes, the Chief Minister is said to have spoken to the leaders who were denied tickets by the party.
The three ministers Arvind Singh Gopa, Ram Govind Choudhury and Tej Narain Pandey also met the CM separately to express their grievances.
According to sources, the CM gave a patient hearing to the leaders and assured them that he will try to convince Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav to reconsider his decision.

Around 43 sitting MLAs, including three ministers, were denied ticket by the party yesterday, giving a big blow to the supporters of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. SP legislator Udayveer Singh Yadav, who was also in the meeting, told reporters that there was no outcome but the Chief Minister was preparing himself for a long political battle. He also did not rule out Amar Singh behind the rejection of the tickets to Akhilesh supporters. There were around 50 legislators at the residence of the CM this morning, but CM met only those whose tickets were denied by the party. Sources said that Ram Govind Choudhury and Arvind Singh Gope said that they are ready to contest the polls even as independent.
