Unidentified persons snatch vehicle, flees

Jammu Tawi, April 16:
An alert has been sounded in Jammu, Samba and Kathua district following a case of unidentified persons abducting a driver and later snatching his commercial vehicle and kicking off the vehicle after showing him sharp edged weapons in Swankha area of Samba district, late night.
While police officials remained tight lipped over the issue and are learnt to have launched a manhunt to trace the vehicle and culprits.
Sources revealed to Newspoint that the driver of the vehicle identified as Mushtaq son of Mohammad Ishaq and resident of Kalakote in Rajouri district informed police that two persons having Dogri language accent approached him at about 9.30 pm at Jammu bus stand and hired his vehicle for going to Awantipura in Kashmir valley.
After fixing the fare, they asked him drive towards Vijaypur first to pick two more passengers. When the vehicle Tavera bearing registration number JKO2BB-2997 reached near Vijaypur, the persons asked him to move towards Swankha area. After reaching at a lonely place, the culprits took out sharp edged weapons and threatened him of dire consequences if he did not leave the vehicle.
The movement the drive came out of the vehicle, the culprits drove away the vehicle to an unknown destination.
Though a case has been registered under section 56/17 u/s 382 and an alert has been sounded but the culprits are still un-traceable.
Sources revealed that Police have identified the culprits but haven’t disclosed their identities as a part of investigation. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused persons.
Source claimed that so far the motive behind such act has not been ascertained but investigations are likely to zero in the accused persons.
