Jammu Tawi, April 25
A six day tour organised by the Army for faculty and students of Aligarh Muslim University culminated amidst much fanfare. The tour was organised to showcase rich cultural heritage of Kishtwar district. It also provided an opportunity to interact with students, locals and government officials of the area. Over the past week, the tour members visited various educational institutions, places of tourist attraction and interest in the district. They also participated in a seminar on ‘Youth in Nation Building’ alongwith local students of the area. The tour members interacted with the General Officer Commanding at Dharmund Garrison.
The sincere efforts of the Army towards empowering women and youth in the area and the measures taken by the Army to ensure peace and stability also were highlighted in the interaction. The professors and students of University shared their experience and appreciated Army’s endeavours and expressed their gratitude for an intellectually stimulating and enriching experience which has broadened their outlook.
