‘Samarasta Bhoj’ hosted

To mark birth anniversary of Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar popularly known as Baba Saheb, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) hosted a social harmony feast (‘Samarasta bhoj’) in Lam – a Village in Nowshera Tehsil of district Rajouri Today. Yudhvir Sethi, BJP vice president and MLA Nowshehra Ravinder Raina feasted with community members to mark Ambedkar Jayanti.
People from all walks of life irrespective of their cast, creed, region or religion joined Samarasta Bhoj and recalled the contribution of eminent Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist Movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi said that B R Ambedkar relentlessly campaigned against social discrimination against untouchables (Dalits) and also gave India its Constitution that promotes equality. The BJP government at the Centre has launched Bhim App wherein mass movement towards increased digital transactions will also get an impetus.
Sethi said, B R Ambedkar fought for rights of women and labour and it was he who rose to become Independent India’s first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
“Today, when April 14 marks his birthday, I pay my tributes to the great visionary who while drafting India’s Constitution assured constitutional guarantees and protections for a wide range of civil liberties for individual citizens, including freedom of religion, the abolition of untouchability, and the outlawing of all forms of discrimination”, Yudhvir Sethi added.
MLA Ravinder Raina while paying tributes to B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary hoped that the country lives up to his dreams. He said that BHIM Aadhar application launched recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will enable every single Indian citizen to pay just with their thumb where No internet, wallet or mobile will be needed. This, he said is a great tribute to this visionary leader of that era.
Paying their floral tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birthday anniversary, Yudhvir Sethi and Raina said that importance of Ambedkar in Indian politics will always remain relevant. The father of the constitution of India and the man who fought for the oppressed in the country came from humble beginnings, they said.
