APD visit in Jammu

The visit of All Party Delegation (APD) led by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Srinagar was to interact with various stakeholders and seeking their cooperation to douse the flames of ongoing fire in the Valley, sparked after killing of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani.
The visit was overall successful as about 300 persons of various delegations barring Hurriyat met with APD and placed their views.
The snubbing of APD by Hurriyat has been castigated by Rajnath Singh who said that Hurriyat do not believe in Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat and Insaniyat.
However, APD also included Jammu in their itinerary as Jammu has suffered problems due to this unrest in the Valley.
In addition, Jammu region though part of the J&K state but have separate aspirations and problems other than the people of the Valley while Rajnath Singh also promised to visit Ladakh in near future while addressing a press conference at Jammu. The visit of APD at Jammu also helped the members to know different aspirations and understand the ground situation, who had little knowledge about whole J&K.
Since APD has very limited time at Jammu to meet with various organizations and therefore they further sub allotted the time to each organizations, which was opposed by several organizations and accordingly some of them protested outside the meeting or skipped the meet.
They should know that there is no end of problems with a single visit of APD. It is just beginning to reach out to the people.
Moreover the visit of Jammu of APD reflects that NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also concerned about all three regions of the state which have different problems
and aspirations.
But skipping of meet by some organizations particularly KP organizations at Jammu cannot be justified. This reflects that there is no discrimination between nationalist and anti-national forces. Instead of taking this recourse, they should have thanked central government for adding Jammu in their itinerary to listen grievance of Jammu without making any hue and cry.
However majority of Jammu based organizations attended the meet and highlighted the main point of discrimination with Jammu region by Kashmir centric parties.
Due to that very reason, a majority of them in their memorandum demanded separate statehood for all three regions to end the stalemate.
Above all the representative of various organizations of Jammu deserve appreciation for making their stand clear to APD that people of Jammu would not accept any move of appeasement policy of separatist forces, who are responsible for the present unrest in the Valley. They also made it clear that people of Jammu do not want autonomy, self-rule or Azadi and urged for not making any type of compromise with unity, sovereignty and integrity of the country.
It is also pertinent to mention here that a majority of people outside state have very little knowledge about J&K, having three different regions with different aspirations and problems.
If government tries to address the political problems of Kashmir people by making compromise with sovereignty of the country then the people of other regions would be forced to up in arms and government would face another wrath of the people. This fact has to be known to all people of the country and particularly by any delegation deputed by centre visiting Valley in future to resolve problems.
