Army conducts skill development cadre

The Army in an endeavour towards promoting self employment opportunities for the youth of remote areas in the Pir Panjal ranges conducted a `Skill Development’ cadre in coordination with the local village bodies. The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga has initiated the training of 22 youth in `House Wiring’ cadre.
The cadre is the outcome of coordination with the elders of the rural village bodies and the local youth and has been formulated with an aim to train the youth in core areas with potential for self employment with emphasis on the practical aspects other than the theoretical aspects.
On completion of the course, certificates will be awarded by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) to the youth, which will enable them to seek employment. Bahar Din, Sarpanch of Village Bagga, while addressing the youth asked them to make optimum use of the cadre. Abdul Gani Malik, Chairman of Bagga Village Committee, while appreciating the efforts of the Army towards positive engagement of the youth in the region, said that the youth of the region will now be able to play a bigger role in the development of the region.
