Army conducts specialist’s medical camp at Surankote

To fulfill a long standing requirement of specialist health care for the needy, the Indian Army is also organising a “Specialists Medical Camp”, Surankote from 09 Jul to 11 Jul 2016 wherein super specialists from various fields of health care will fulfill the aspirations of local population from remote area of Poonch district.
The occasion is a landmark in the health care history of Poonch district, since this is the first occasion where in apart from Army and civil doctors, a team of doctors of international fame led by Dr Sushil Razdan have arrived for the benefit of the locals. Dr Rajni Razdan who is a specialist in Gynecology, Dr KK Pandita, a Senior Physician Dr Manmeet Singh, who is a Neuro- psychiatrist and Dr Sarla Kaul, a Radiologist are attending the camp.
These super specialist doctors along with Eye, ENT and Skin Specialists from the Army are providing a comprehensive and holistic health care for the next three days.
Apart from providing routine medical care and treatment, the Specialists Medical Camp aims at identifying individuals with debilitating diseases like congenital heart diseases in children below 18 years of age and cataract patients for further treatment. These patients will be referred to higher centres for surgery and continued treatment which will be free of cost. This implies that the present “Specialist Medical Camp” does not end here, it is only a beginning and the process of rendering medical care to the needy will continue till the finality of the medical treatment. This unique endeavor of the Army to address the basic medical needs of the common man in this remote district will benefit a large segment of needy locals from the remote areas.
