Army conducts veterinary equine training

Army conducted a five week “Equine Training Course” under its project Op Sadbhavna has been completed for Bachelor of Veterinary sciences & Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) internship students of Sher- e Kashmir University of Agriculture and technology, Jammu. Over 46 internship students were trained through the training capsule course to acquire technical expertise on finer aspects of equine husbandry, treatment and management including exposure to various diagnostic techniques to augment the therapeutic and diagnostic skills of budding veterinarians of the state. On occasion of valedictory function, Officiating GOC, 71 Sub Area appreciated the efforts and hard work put in by 3 Advance Field Veterinary Hospital to enhance professional knowledge of budding veterinarians of the state. He was convinced that this course would serve to strengthen the bond between Army and the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He unveiled a manual on equine training course as ready reference for the internship students. He also presented certificates along with the manual to all the students. Prof MMS Zama, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir university of Agricultural Sciences, Jammu and Dr JS Soodan, HOD Clinics, addressing the ceremony, lauded the effort of Army in undertaking such goodwill training projects which empowers young vets to combat the equine diseases in field area.
Brigadier Remount Veterinary Services, Headquarter Northern Command congratulated all the interns on successful completion of the course and was convinced that the practical knowledge gained by the interns through the course will augment their professional acumen and enable them for future challenges in equine management and treatment.
