Army conducts workshop on “Environment Preservation” at Daraba

Army organised a workshop on “Environment Preservation” at Universal Higher Secondary School, village Daraba in Poonch district, recently. The workshop motivate the locals specially the young minds to understand the importance and requirement of increasing the green cover by planting more trees in the area and enriching the environment. The workshop was organised as an interactive session where in students and locals were informed of the benefits of cleaner and greener surroundings. The event also aimed to invite locals and students to examine their activities and lifestyle and see how the concept of a “Green Economy” fits into it. During the event 287 fruit bearing trees like Guava, Amla, Khabani, Khori, Aakhrot, Plum, Bisa and Grapes were planted. The event was attended by Kabir Hussain, Tehsildar of Harni and Ameen Choudhary, SHO of Harni along with 60 other locals from the area. On the occasion, villagers were also educated on the importance of planting trees to keep the environment clean so that carbon imprints remain under control. The youth took pledge to conserve the flora and fauna for benefit of present and future generations.
