Army organises agricultural awareness camp

Accomplishing its primal aim of defending the border successfully, Indian Army has been keen in uplifting standards of local populace residing close to Line of Control. Keeping the motto “Developed Farming: A Key to Overall Development” in mind, Indian Army at Jhangar organised interaction of experts from agricultural institutes with rustic farmers living in border areas. On formal request of Army auth at Jhangar, Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology in coordination with army organised a workshop on various scientifically advanced & developed methods of agriculture business to enhance productivity. Renowned experts from the university visited the border areas and conducted lectures, debates and discussions to enlighten the farmers with use of latest technology for better agricultural production in farming. The productive & innovative ideas shared by the experts will not only assist locals in bringing revolution in grain production but also enable farmers to earn more. On the same juncture, farming kits were also distributed to the farmers on subsidized rates. The event was attended by a total of 380 locals including 186 gents, 106 ladies and 88 children. The event was managed by one officer, 03 Junior Commissioned Officers and 10 other ranks of Indian Army. The valuable & innovative ideas on Agricultural Development presented by team of experts from the University were lauded by one and all present
