Army organises Cricket tournament

Army organised a Cricket Tournament at Harniyal Idgah Ground in Ramban district from 21 August 2016 to 18 September 2016 total of 52 teams participated in the tournament.
Star Guys, Harniyal and Kings Eleven, Khari completed in the finals. Kings Eleven, Khari won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, Kings Eleven, Khari scored 120 runs in 19 overs for the loss of all wickets. Chasing the score of Kings Eleven, Star Guys, Harniyal, were restricted to 102 runs in 17 overs. Kings Eleven won the match by 18 runs. Winner team received a cash prize of Rs 16,000/- alongwith trophy and the runners up were given a cash prize of Rs 11,000/-. Sakir Ahmed of Star Guys, Harniyal, won Man of the Series and Nisar Ahamed won Man of the match. A huge gathering of 1000 spectators witnessed the cricket tournament.
The final match was followed by a grand prize distribution ceremony. Tabez Salim, Tehsildar, Khari was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he said that the tournament has been a huge success in terms of unearthing the talent of youths from remote areas. The final match was also attended by the Shri Gulam Kadir, Sarpanch, Khari, Shri Fayaz Ahmed, Youth leader, Ramban District and Parvej Ahmed, SHO, Khari.
All the teams and locals expressed their gratitude towards the Army for organising the Cricket Tournament and promised to build upon the initiative taken by the Army.
