Army organises first aid drive

Army on Thursday organised an awareness drive on First Aid and Snake Bite for students and locals at Haribudha, Poonch. The drive was to increase awareness amongst the locals regarding the importance and relevance of First Aid procedures and action to be taken in case of a Snake Bite.
The main focus of the drive was to imparting knowledge on managing cases of snake bite, fractures, burn injuries, various types of wounds, first-aid to persons subjected to bites, stings, bruises, fracture, foreign object in the body, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, accidental bleeding, heart attack etc. Locals were apprised how any medical emergency can be handled easily with adequate preparation. Timely assistance, comprising of simple medical techniques, is most critical to the victims and often saves lives. Basic skills in providing first aid are therefore a must in our life and should be learnt by all in the society.  This initiative was greatly appreciated by the locals and they expressed their gratitude for the tips imparted to them.
