Army organises tree plantation campaign at Dharamkot

Army in collaboration with Forest Department, Bhaderwah today organised a Tree Plantation Campaign in Dharamkot region to commemorate the importance of World Environment Day. The response was overwhelming and the event witnessed active participation of school children and villagers.
Azad Beg, Sarpanch of Puneja inaugurated the drive at Dharamkot. Speaking on the occasion, he referred to the challenges being faced by the people due to depleting water level, deforestation and environment pollution.
He emphasised that there is need of awareness among the masses at all level and it is the collective responsibility of all the members of the society.
There is need to work with dedication and commitment by all the agencies for environment protection and maintain cleanliness in the surroundings. On concluding the drive he expressed his gratitude to Indian Army on organising such an initiative.
