Army organises veterinary camp at Keri

Army keeping up its tradition of bonding with the locals in all spheres of life organised a Veterinary Camp at village Keri in Rajouri District, today under Sadbhavana initiative. The camp was organised with cooperation from District Animal Husbandry Department and Animal Husbandry Officer Rajouri. Besides free Veterinary treatment for the animals, facilities of disease, mass deworming and advise on good animal health management practices to improve the productivity of livestock were conducted. The camp was to extend veterinary services to livestock in villages where adequate infrastructure is not available as well as to make farmers and locals aware about care of their livestock.
The Veterinary Camp was a joint effort undertaken by a team of doctors from Army and civil administration and attended by a large number of villagers. The response was overwhelming and the locals expressed their gratitude towards the Army for conduct of such camp. A total of 1185 livestock were treated during the camp. The locals have requested the Army authorities to organise such veterinary camps on a quarterly basis, which will help them care for
their livestock.
