The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Kalakote conducted a four week Computer Operator and Information Technology course for youth at Kalakote in coordination with the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT), Nowshera. Eight youth from the border villages of Kalakote and adjoining villages benefitted from the course which was conducted with an aim of developing skills in computer literacy amongst students and empower them for seeking employment. This programme is a part of the Digital India campaign by the Government of India, wherein the potential of information and communication technology has been identified as one of the core areas for employment.
The course emphasised on theoretical and practical classes which included topics like fundamentals of computer operation, MS Office and working knowledge of internet.
The students were awarded certification from NCVT on termination of the course. The parents of the participants expressed their gratitude to the Army for giving an opportunity to their children to progress in the field of information technology.
