Army Public School, Damana organized a commendable event ‘tree talk’ in the school on the occasion of AWES rising day.
While addressing the gathering, O.P. Sharma, Vidyarthi, Director Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing appraised at length to the students about their role in protecting and preserving the plant kingdom on the earth.
Tree talk, the programme which includes information related to different plants from school’s Herbal Garden like Chandan, Maulsari, Gulbasi, Stevia,Camphor etc their medicinal values, research on the plants, extraction of essential components from the plants was conducted by Army Public School Damana.
On this occasion numbers of activities were organized to enlighten the students’ fraternity about the multidimensional uses of plants to maintain the ecological balance and sustain life on this planet. The Chief Guest appraised at length to the students about their role in protecting and preserving the plant kingdom on the earth. He further said that the life on the earth exists only due to the trees and as such it becomes their fundamental and moral duty to preserve trees. He vividly conveyed the religious, social, biological and environmental significance of trees to the audience through different short stories and other related events. Besides, Dr. S Kitchlu (Ex Scientist IIIM Jammu) and Bhola Nath (Retire Principal MAM College) also addressed the students on this occasion. They also highlighted the importance of nature in sustaining life on the earth.
Dr Renu Gupta, the Principal of the school advised students to keep themselves connected with the nature so that they could enjoy their life to the maximum. She told them to remain conscious about their moral duty of protecting and preserving the plant world
