Army soldier martyred in gunfight with militants in north Kashmir

An army soldier was killed on Wednesday in a gunfight with militants in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, reports said.

As a reported that the soldier was killed in Keran sector of the frontier district in a gunfight with militants.

The gunfight broke out at Choken Post in Keran sector near the Line of Control at around 7.30 am, it said, adding a soldier was killed in the exchange of firing between the two sides.

The operation was going on when reports last came in, the officials added.
