Speaker, J&K, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today appreciated the creative skills showcased by young students in the art of Clay Modeling, stating that arts and crafts promote holistic growth among students, besides providing avenues for showcasing their talents.
The Speaker was speaking at the annual Clay Modeling Competition organized by the Viraj Art Gallery, Gandhi Nagar, which saw participation of a large number of students from different schools of Jammu.
Addressing the students, the Speaker said this competition showcases the scope of thinking and reasoning of a child’s mind.
“With children choosing to project socially relevant issues like demonetization, corruption, global warming, environment protection; it shows the level of awareness among youth regarding the society and the nation,” he added.
The Speaker further said that young minds are the creators and protectors and it is the right age to ignite curiosity and inquisitiveness in the minds of children which guarantees a positive future for the nation.
The Speaker also appreciated the creative talent displayed by the students and distributed prizes among the best performing students. The event saw participation of over 150 students from 14 schools. The works of the children were adjudged by well known artists of the state, Amrik Singh Namdhari and Jang S Verman.
