Jammu Tawi, December 2
The Management of ASN Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat today organized Anti-Drug awareness programme inside the school premises where in 150 students of senior classes of the school participated. Shahzad Salaria KPS, SP (South), Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Zorawar Singh, Chairman Team Jammu was the Guests of Honour.
Ritesh Kapoor, Administrator of the school presented the welcome address and bouquets to the Guests. Speaking on the occasion, Kapoor highlighted the need for creating awareness amongst the youth about this deadly virus “Drugs”. He added that students are the main advertisers as well as victims of drugs and they need to be focused to have their healthy living. He congratulated Team Jammu for their consistent efforts against drugs and creating awareness amongst the youth to have society free from drugs.
Shahzad Salaria appreciated the role of the school management for taking an initiative to organize a much needed programme against drugs. He said that everyday our police officers are arresting number of people carrying heinous drugs and police is on its way to find out the major culprits but the society also needs to be alert as our young children are being dragged into its consumption and are becoming addict to it. He said that every medicine is a drug which we take for the cure but increase in its dosage becomes bad and can kill an individual too.
Zorawar Singh said that Team Jammu will leave no stone unturned to fight against drugs and will lead Jammu to Drugs free society in a time to come. He added that it’s not an individual fight against drugs but it’s the trouble to the society which is required to be handled systematically by everyone so that our coming generation won’t suffer due to its addiction to save lots of lives.
The students of the school carried play-cards with slogans against drugs and took a rally in the colony to have a society free from drugs. The School management presented souvenirs to all the guests for their valuable guidance to the staff and students for their better tomorrow. At the end, Vandana Trehan, Overall House Incharge of the School presented the vote of thanks.
