Assistance provided to orphan girls at Samba

Under the Laadli Beti Diwas initiative, district administration Samba today distributed assistance among orphan girls during a function organized at Ghagwal, here today.

District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda was the chief guest.

The DDC distributed Hygiene Study Kits, Shoes and Blankets among the beneficiaries  identified by the Sub Divisional Task Force, constituted under SDM Ghagwal.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed Sub Divisional Task Force BBBP Ghagwal to pursue cases of school dropout girls with their parents and ascertain reasons so that they may be enrolled in the next academic session. During the programme, DDC also honoured mothers of newly born girl child and distributed sweets among them. An awareness programme on Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, was also organised for the participants

SDM Ghagwal Narayan Dutt Sharma, DSWO Mushtaq Choudhary, Tehsildar Rajpura Preeti Sharma, Tehsildar Ghagwal Kanchan Bala, BDO Ghagwal Bhawani Attri, CDPO Ghagwal Saleem Beigh, BMO Nud Sudershan Katoch and Medical Officer Dr Sandeep Raina were also present on the occasion.
