Ramban, December 17
A one day programme for disseminating the awareness regarding availing of the Pre-Matric Scholarship of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) students was organised by the Directorate of Tribal Affairs (TA), J&K in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Development Acton Group (JKDAG) at Maitra, here today.
The programme was presided by the Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Ramban, Neelam Langeh in presence of Deputy Director (DD), T A, Jammu, Suman Bala, President, JKDAG, S M Hussain, President, J&K Gujjar Association, Haji Mohd. Yousuf, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ramban, Mohammed Sharief Chauhan,ZEO, Ramban, Zubeda Begum and BDO, Ramban Mumtaj Mirza besides prominent local Gujjar and Bakerwal leaders of various political parties and several ST students of IX and X classes.
After speeches by the CEO, Chauhan, DD TA, Suman Bala and prominent local Gujjar and Bakerwal leaders including Haji Mohammed Yousuf, Farooq Ahmed Choudhary, Choudhary Abdul Gani and Andul Rahim Sohil on the issues pertaining to the development and career of the ST community, the MLA, Langeh spoke on the various initiatives taken by the NDA and state coalition government for the development and upliftment of the ST community.
