Expressing solidarity with the Sikhs settled in Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that he would soon call on the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to flag the demands of Sikh community of J&K.
Badal gave this assurance to a delegation of Sikhs from J&K, who called on him at his residence. Taking part in deliberations, Badal said that he would soon meet the Union Home Minister at his office in New Delhi to impress upon him for resolving the long pending issues of community.
He said that Sikhs were an integral part of J&K, who were instrumental in upholding the secular character of State. Badal said that for preserving the nation unity and integrity the need of the hour was to facilitate Sikhs settled in J&K. Assuring fulsome support and cooperation to the Sikh delegation, the Chief Minister said that the state government would extend every possible help to the Sikhs from J&K for setting up a technical educational institute in Valley or Jammu.
